Strictly getting married at the Biscuit Factory

Strictly getting married at the Biscuit Factory, Newcastle upon Tyne

So, for those of you who haven’t ready my previous blog, this is part 3 of Louise and Asif’s amazing wedding day. Having already tied the knot at Horton Grange Hotel and been for a lovely meal with their guests in Newcastle this is them arriving at the Biscuit Factory in Newcastle for the next installment! See them tie the knot in my previous blog. And Louise and everyone else were in for a Strictly surprise later that evening - read on!

A wedding photographer’s dream, the gallery upstairs offers a truly unique and classy backdrop for some outstanding wedding photos so we lost no time in making the most of it and getting some shots of the ‘just married’ couple.

Great lighting, brick and white backdrops, modern, clean lines - a great recipe for some cool wedding photos.

Meanwhile prepartions in the room downstairs were being given their finishing touches by Mellanie form Mellaine Gair Luxury Wedding Design. And she certainly gave the room the wow factor!

The room downstairs at the Biscuit Factory is an incredible space and one which I didn’t even know existed until I first covered a wedding there a couple of years ago. It’s very flexible and HUGE. I don’t know how many friends you’ve got but I doubt many would find it too small to house them all! Plenty of room for lots of tables and still leave a very large dance floor - if that’s what you need. There is a very swish bar area too.

Time to cut the cake!

Add then for the first dance… but little was anyone to know (apart from the groom) what was to follow. If you look at the last of the 4 images below you’ll see Asif’s introduction initially left Louise a little confused…

So it turns out Louise used to be quite some dancer in her youth competing at an impressive level. This had been partly responsible for her love of all things Strictly. So what better a surprise on her wedding day than her own personal show dances from Flavia and Vincent from Strictly Come Dancing!

It was lovely to see Louise’s surprise and delight along with that of all her guests! Not any sort of dancer myself, it was so impressive to see them do their stuff at such close quarters and to get some great photos of them at the same time. Three show dances and three outfit changes for Flavia later (phew!) we were all done and it was time for the bride and groom to slip backstage for a few minutes for a quick chat and for Louise to find out if there were any vacancies for a spare dancer…

The party continued long into the night and of course I continued to capture images of the guests having fun and enjoying themselves along with the bride and groom. Probably enough pics for here though! A really memorable evening and such a pleasure to be part of capturing the memories of all involved.

If you are thinking of getting married at the Biscuit Factory (or anywhere else for that matter) and like the style of these photos please get in touch to chat about your big day and find out about my availability and packages.
